BiographY

AmaltheuS was born on October 25th, 1984 in Nice, France.

He is a songwriter & singer, mainly in English and also in French. His compositions mix different styles such as pop, rock, funk & soul.

The name “AmaltheuS” is the latin name for Amalthea, the Greek foster-mother of Zeus, himself considered as the Supreme God of the Universe in ancient Greece.

Self-taught musician, AmaltheuS has the so-called "relative" musical ear which allows him to reproduce identically a melody from a reference note, distinguishing each interval, in particular those composing the chords and harmonics of a piece of music.

He started playing on a keyboard/arranger at the age of 7, and learned by himself listening, working and reproducing musical works ranging from the French pop music, across British and American pop music and also classical music which constitute his musical influences.

As a child, he grew up in a relatively poor family between the French Riviera (South of France) where he is from and various regions of Center, South West and North East of France. After his parents’ divorce, he was raised with his two brothers by his single mother. During difficult times, they had to turn to food distribution associations. His favorite artists are Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler, Lenny Kravitz, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson and Elton John.

He got married in 2020 and has a daughter. He now lives in the South of France.

He’s passionate with spiritual and speculative Alchemy that he discovered when he was 26 years old and thoroughly studied since then. He uses to say “The entire Universe is about Alchemy, it hides the most ancient philosophy of the living.” Fun fact is that the first musical album he bought was “Alchemy” from Dire Straits when he was 16.

He is still much involved in associations and in particular the association “Les Restaurants du Cœur” which he regularly supports, and from which he benefited as a child, as well as humanitarian associations such as “Help” & “Enfants du Monde” to help children in need in Africa and in particular in Burkina Faso & Ethiopia.
